Clarify the work.
Clarity is the enemy of waste.
Every task, ticket, or commitment at Segern is specific, owned by one person, and has a clear definition of done.
How we do it:
- Break down projects into clearly-scoped, actionable issues.
- Assign a single owner to each issue or deliverable—avoid shared accountability.
- Make “done” explicit: what success looks like, what artifacts are needed, and who needs to sign off.
- Assign ownership as early as possible; the fewer people responsible, the clearer and more accountable the work.
Practice:
- For every issue, write: “Owner: ___, Success looks like: ___, Done when: ___.”
- Review open issues weekly for clarity and closure.
When the work is clear, the results are better—and the energy is lighter. Ambiguity is the slowest poison. Clarity is our cure.
