Napkin

Shaping minds

Context

Segern partnered with Napkin to reimagine personal knowledge management, transforming a note-taking app into a unique blend of productivity and mindfulness. The project focused on creating an intuitive, visually appealing interface that encourages reflection and serendipitous discovery.

Solution

Faced with the challenge of standing out in the crowded note-taking app market, Napkin turned to Segern for a transformative redesign. Our team employed a holistic approach to art direction and customer experience design, developing a minimalist visual language that reflected Napkin's ethos of simplicity and inspiration. We meticulously mapped user journeys to identify key improvements, such as the "My Flow" section for curated reflection and tag-based navigation for easy idea exploration. Working closely with Napkin's developers, we ensured that all visuals could be implemented across platforms, resulting in a calming, distraction-free environment that simplifies idea capture and fosters regular reflection. The redesigned app received overwhelmingly positive feedback, increased user engagement, and successfully carved a unique niche in the personal knowledge management space as a hybrid productivity-mindfulness tool.
